Information on what it is really like to live in the United Kingdom

Motorsport / Motor racing / Automobile Racing (whichever you prefer to call it) is pretty big business in the UK. We have everything from Grassroots race series to find the future generations of Racing drivers, through to big events such as the British F1 Grand Prix (our own event on the calendar of the world’s top motor racing series, for the benefit of anyone unfamiliar with motor racing reading this).

The vast majority of Formula1 teams are based here (even those registered as Austrian or French, etc), or have some form of technical centre or connection to the United Kingdom: McLaren, Williams, Renault (ex. Benetton), Red Bull, Mercedes (ex. Tyrrell, B.A.R, Honda & Brawn), Force India (Formerly Jordan) + others.

Motor racing is governed in the UK by the Motorsports Association (MSA), formerly known as the RAC Motor Sports Association (RAC MSA). Their website has alot of good information on how to get started in racing.

For a country considered by many as relatively small, we have lots of world class motor racing venues, including:

Web Design - Built with Netobjects FUSION

Silverstone

Brands Hatch

Donington Park

Oulton Park

Rockingham

Snetterton

Thruxton

Knockhill

Castle Combe

Cadwell Park

Mallory Park

Croft

Pembrey

Goodwood

Santa Pod

Some started life as dedicated racing circuits, others from finding new uses for surplus airfields we had after the end of World War 2.

Over the years, they have produced lots of outstanding races, bordering on the insane, and equally insane accidents.
